A Monroe County man with an active arrest warrant has waived charges of possession of a gun and methamphetamine.
William Patterson III, 34, of East Stroudsburg remains in the Monroe County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail.
State police at Fern Ridge were dispatched to the Wawa on Route 209, Chestnuthill Township at 8:23 p.m. Aug. 23, for a report of a man acting erratically. Patterson was found near Route 115 and Pilgrim Way.
Patterson, having been previously convicted in New Jersey for obstruction, was acting in an erratic fashion consistent with being under the influence of methamphetamine, police said.
Patterson had a loaded Taurus Spectrum .380 gun, a glass smoking pipe containing methamphetamine residue, a glass container containing suspected methamphetamine, and five hypodermic syringes, police said.
Patterson had an active arrest warrant out of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Patterson faces charges of firearms not to be carried without license; possession of firearm prohibited; intentional possession of controlled substance by person not registered; and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.
