State police at Frackville

State police at Frackville reported on several incidents:

• Police are investigating a theft by deception case. They were called to Sosnar Physical Therapy LLC, West Mahanoy Township, at 10:47 a.m. Aug. 16 for the theft/fraud forgery incident.

Police said someone hacked the business email accounts and posted job opportunities on Indeed before attempting to conduct online interviews.

• Oriel I. Rivera Garcia, 21, of Lebanon, was cited after a crash at 2:02 p.m. Aug. 10 on Main Boulevard in East Union Township.

Police said he was the driver of a 2009 Honda Civic that was involved in the mishap with a 2007 Mercury Montego driven by Stacie L. Fornear-Miller, 53, of Zion Grove.

Police both drivers had minor injuries and were treated by personnel from the Mahanoy City and Shenandoah ambulances, although no medical transport was necessary.

• A 44-year-old New Ringgold man is the victim of a theft by deception incident.

Police said it happened at 12:30 a.m. Aug. 16 when the victim electronically transferred $175 via the Square application to a suspect to purchase several tools. Police said the victim never received the tools and the suspect ceased all contact with the victim.

• Derek Musket, 46, of Coaldale, was charged with retail theft (shoplifting) after they were summoned at 8:42 p.m. Aug. 14 to the Walmart store, 35 Plaza Drive, Rush Township Hometown.

Police said it was determined he under-scanned 21 items while checking his groceries out, including steaks, chicken, shampoo, conditioner and a number of grocery items. The stolen items amounted to $163.09, police said.

• Police are investigating an identity theft incident that they were called to at 12:31 a.m. Aug. 23.

Police said the victim is a 46-year-old woman from Valley Street in Brockton, who reported an unknown actor used her information to apply for a credit card.

• An 18-year-old Tamaqua teen is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after state police at the Frackville barracks were summoned at 5:50 p.m. Aug. 8 to Ryan Avenue and Ridge Street in Rush Township.

Police said they were called to the scene for a possible overdose and found the teen showing signs of alcohol-based impairment.
