Dollar General proposal gets time extension

A proposed Dollar General in Mahoning Township has received a time extension.

On a unanimous measure, the township’s board of supervisors recently approved the Dollar General extension to Oct. 18.

It was noted that the planning commission recommended conditional approval to the Dollar General subject to LTL Consultants review letter comments dated July 17.

That came after supervisors in July approved several waiver requests for the store proposed to be built at 1677 Blakeslee Boulevard Drive, West, Route 443.

The board at that time approved the following:

• Separate preliminary and final plan submissions are required. The planning commission recommended waiver request.

• Drainage easement needs to be provided to the township. The minimum width is 10 feet from each side of the drainage facility and existing nature drainage way; however, the township may require a greater easement when necessary, noting that a blanket easement over the entire property is being provided.

• The depth of water within the basins. The waiver request was tabled on a motion by Robert Slaw until the township has more information.

The plans call for building a 10,700-square-foot store with 32 parking spaces. JLM Investments LLC is the project engineer for the project, while the site is owned by Duschak One LLC.
