Busing issues are common at the beginning of the school year.
Pleasant Valley School District had a few on Monday. When some children got home later than was expected, parents were upset.
Superintendent James Konrad said, “All schools, including Pleasant Valley, experience busing delays for the first one to two weeks of school.
“Since we have new bus drivers learning their routes, students learning where the buses are located in the parking lot of each of their schools, and students and staff making sure they are on the correct buses, we, as well as other school districts, will always experience delays especially on the first day of school.”
Konrad said the goal is to become more efficient and on time.
Konrad continued, “We’ve also informed our parents on Monday that due to the construction on routes 209 and 115, they should expect delays with transportation.”
He said a tractor-trailer crash on Route 115 caused further delays Monday.
