Our Lady Queen of Peace hosts an Al Anon gathering in the Cafe’ Wednesdays at noon.

Deadline tomorrow

The deadline to purchase tickets for Kettle Creek’s Taste of Italy dinner, which will benefit the Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center, is tomorrow.

It is being held at Trout Lake on Rt. 715, Sept. 21, starting at 5:30 p.m.

Seniors menu

The Chestnuthill Sr. Center Seniors, hosted by Zion Lutheran Church, will have their choice of tuna casserole or egg salad for Friday, and pork & gravy or chick Caesar salad for next Wednesday. Meal reservations must be made by 10 a.m. one day in advance with the Center manager, Donna Riedel. She can be reached at 570-242-6770. There is a suggested donation for the meals.

Pastor’s farewell

Pastor Suzanne of St. Matthew’s UCC, Kunkletown, will be bidding the congregation farewell this Sunday after 12 years of leading the church worship and celebrations.

Backpack blessing

Sunday is set for the backpack blessing at all Masses at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Brodheadsville.

Mum sale set

Eldred Township Veteran Memorial group is holding a mum sale. Orders and payment are due by Sept. 3.

Harvesting help

The Garden of Giving is in need of help for harvesting the summer crops.

The Garden is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Harvesting continues until Nov. 1, when the Garden closes for the season.

In addition, the Garden is asking for help in donations and grants and a grant writer.

Pleasant Valley School District will be back to holding classes on Tuesday after the Labor Day holiday.

Bears Open House

The Pleasant Valley Intermediate School will hold Open House from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, as well as a Scholastic Book Fair.

The Pleasant Valley Elementary School will hold its Open House on Wednesday, also from 5 to 7 p.m.
