Carbon County officials are inviting all municipal elected officials, as well as candidates for office, to experience the new Carbon County Emergency Operations Training Center.

From 9 a.m. to noon on Sept. 9, Carbon County emergency responders will provide elected officials and candidates with tours of the new facility, as well as opportunities to participate in a training exercise or two.

An invitation to officials states that this event aims to help “gain an understanding on the importance of training and what is required as an elected official, candidate or emergency responder.”

There will be live scenarios for participants to watch and actually be a participant in.

Officials wishing to attend should dress appropriately, such as jeans and closed toe footwear, along with weather-appropriate attire.
