Tamaqua man charged in home invasion, police say

Andres Robles, 40, of Tamaqua, was jailed last week following a home invasion, according to Tamaqua police.

Officers said they were dispatched to a home on the 600 block of Arlington Street around 8:23 p.m. Aug. 17 for a home invasion in progress. The caller said there were two men with guns on the porch.

While on their way, officers were told that both men fled toward Mountain Avenue, and that a man with a gun was at the East End Park.

Police located and spoke to three individuals in the area. Robles was among the group, and told police that he was attempting to find his children because one of them phoned him and said a man with a gun was threatening them.

Through an investigation, police learned that Robles knocked on the door of the Arlington Street home, said he was with the Tamaqua police and held a firearm. He then entered the occupied home where he pointed the gun at a child.

Police said they found a firearm in the passenger side of a vehicle that he was traveling in.

Robles was arraigned before Tremont Magisterial District Judge David Rossi on charges of burglary, criminal trespass/break in to structure, simple assault, reckless endangerment and impersonating a public servant. He was unable to post $10,000 cash bail and was sent to the Schuylkill County Prison.
