State Police at Lehighton

State police at the Lehighton barracks have released the following information on incidents that troopers responded to recently:

• Michael S. Einiger, 22, of North Brunswick, New Jersey, was cited for “vehicle turning left” after a mishap at 9:25 a.m. Aug. 12 on Smith Road in Polk Township. Police said he was driving a 2013 Toyota Avalon when he crashed with a 1996 Dodge Ram pickup truck operated by Christopher Tworkowsky, 31, of Kunkletown. Police did not provide the details of the crash except to say neither driver was injured.

• A 36-year-old Saylorsburg man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop conducted by police at 2:24 a.m. Aug. 12 at the intersection of Vista Drive and Meixsell Valley Road in Ross Township. Police said they stopped him in a 2005 BMW for failure to maintain his lane of travel and other offenses.

• A 55-year-old Palmerton woman is the victim of a theft by deception/identity theft incident that police are investigating. They said they were summoned at 3:17 p.m. Aug. 9 to Lincoln Avenue, Bowmanstown, where the victim reported a KeyBank account was opened in her name, using her Social Security number, without her knowledge or approval. The woman did not sustain a loss in the incident.

• Police responded to a harassment incident at 12:15 a.m. Aug. 7 at a property along Interchange Road in Polk Township, but said the investigation showed no physical altercation took place between the male and female who were involved in the incident.

• A 75-year-old Saylorsburg man was arrested for violating a court-issued Protection From Abuse order after police were called to Michael Street in Ross Township at 8:14 p.m. Aug. 6. The victim, who is protected by the court order, is a 35-year-old woman from Saylorsburg.

• Police said two portable toilets having a combined value of $3,000 were vandalized along Fireline Road in Lower Towamensing Township. The victim is Stoney Ridge Septic Service, Palmerton. The incident was reported at midnight Aug. 4.

• A 67-year-old Jim Thorpe man is charged with terroristic threats after he brandished weapons and pointed them in the direction of his two sons. Police said they were called at 4:32 p.m. Aug. 1 to a property on Church Road, Penn Forest Township, where the 18-year-old and 21-year-old reported the action by their father.

• Seth J. DeSanto, 18, of Kunkletown, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a crash at midnight Aug. 15 on Route 209 in Polk Township. Police said he was driving a 2011 Toyota Prius that crashed into a 2012 Volvo driven by John Den Dekker, 57, of Tillsonburg, Ontario, that was disabled on the roadway due to an equipment malfunction. Neither driver was hurt in the incident.

• Lakeside Tire and Auto, Kresgeville, is the victim of a theft of services incident that police were called to at 2:22 p.m. Aug. 15. Police said a suspect provided the business a check for payment of auto repair services on a 2002 Hyundai and the check was deemed invalid due to insufficient funds.
