A new beverage outlet will debut next week in Lehighton.
Mason’s Cold Beer Too at 101 Blakeslee Blvd. Drive East, is expected to open by midweek, according to Todd Mason, who is the husband of owner Jane Mason.
On Monday, borough council approved the request from Mitch 325, LLC for a reduction in his letter of credit in the amount of $12,794.
“Our land development plan is almost complete,” Todd Mason said. “The only thing remaining is landscaping across the front of the building, which is not complete because of PennDOT construction work.”
The two-unit building is constructed on roughly one acre west of Advance Auto. The location had been used by a farm stand.
It’s a 52-by-152-foot building, half of which would be a beverage center (beer store), and the other half potentially wine and spirits.
Todd Mason said they are trying to attract the wine and spirits store to occupy the building.
Mason said they have a huge selection of everything from domestic beer to any imported beer people are looking for, seltzers, teas, and craft beer.
“I’d like to thank the borough of Lehighton and all their utilities; everybody really pulled together and helped us get our building done in a very timely manner,” he said. “There’s been an awful lot of cooperation, and we’re looking forward to bringing cold beer and a huge variety of beverages to the borough, along with a dozen flavors of spiked slushies that are rotated in and out on a regular basis; we have new flavors every week.”
Todd Mason owns Mason’s Cold Beer in Jim Thorpe.
