Robbery suspect caught on top of house roof
A homeless man charged with robbing a bank Saturday morning in Monroe County was captured on a roof.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Pocono Mountain Regional Police in the case against David Stucker:
At 11:05 a.m., police were dispatched to the PNC Bank at the intersection of Route 115 and Route 940 for a robbery.
A bank employee said a man passed a note to the teller.
A GPS tracker was placed in the money that the man took.
PNC Bank told police Stucker had left his Visa Debit card and his concealed carry permit, both with his name on the cards, on the counter where he passed the note to the teller.
Pocono Mountain Regional Police responded to the area shown by the tracker and located a white pickup that had been crashed along the power lines off Burger Road.
The truck, a Dodge Ram, came back registered to David Stucker and Kristal Eyerman.
A police K-9 began tracking Stucker, which led directly to a house on Springer Lane, close to where the truck had crashed.
The residence on Springer Lane was related to the Stucker family.
A police helicopter was called and Stucker was located on the roof of the residence.
Stucker was taken into custody after he climbed down a ladder. He told police the money was in his pocket.
Stucker had $3,360.
Stucker told police he is an addict and living out of his truck.
He faces charges of robbery, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property, and possessing instrument of crime.
Stucker is in the Monroe County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 monetary bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Aug. 15 before District Judge Michael R. Muth of East Stroudsburg.
