One person was seriously injured Wednesday evening when involved in an industrial accident in West Penn township.

The incident occurred around 6 p.m. in the 700 block of Penn Drive, Route 443.

The victim was treated at the scene by members of the Penn Mahoning ambulance and Lehighton paramedics. A Medevac helicopter responded to the scene but the flight crew worked on the victim in the Penn Mahoning ambulance as it transported the man to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Carbon.

The West Penn fire company responded setting up a landing zone as fire police maintained traffic control at the scene. West Penn township police are investigating the incident.
