July 31, 2002 - Jim Thorpe’s Jake Zurn and Lansford’s Shawn Blasko both finish with a single, double, run scored and RBI to help the West squad gain a 10-5 victory over the East in the annual Panther Valley Little League Tournament all-star game. Thorpe’s Josh Hontz pitches the first two innings, allowing just one hit and no runs to earn the win. Hontz, who strikes out five, also collects a double and scores a run. Jared Reitz of Lansford adds a pair of hits, a run and an RBI, while Kyle Porembo of Jim Thorpe slugs a solo homer. Thorpe’s George Pavlosky chips in with an RBI single.
