State police at Stroudsburg

State police at Stroudsburg made the following reports.

• Carina Vretman Zurga, 55, of Pen Argyl, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 8:25 a.m. July 23 on Route 33 in Hamilton Township.

Police said she was driving a Chevrolet Trail Blazer southbound faster than the speed limit and lost control of the vehicle on a curve, hitting a guide rail.

The vehicle was disabled.

• A 22-year-old woman from Stroudsburg had her father, a 52-year-old Tannersville man, arrested for harassment by communications after she went to the state police barracks at 11:46 a.m. July 17 to report the incidents that happened in Hamilton Township,

Police said the woman said father has been sending her disparaging text messages and using obscene words. Police said messages were sent between May 29 and July 17 that presented derogatory comments against her boyfriend and slanderous names to the daughter.

• Police responded to a theft at 4:58 p.m. June 26 at a residence on Route 611 in Hamilton Township.

An 86-year-old Stroudsburg woman told police she attempted to obtain a money order, which was declined, and when she checked her bank statement notices the money order amount was withdrawn from her account.
