Mr. and Mrs. John E. Stanko Jr. of Lansford will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 4.

The couple was married on Aug. 4, 1973, in St. Michael RC Church, Lansford by the late Msgr. Joseph A. Baran.

Mrs. Stanko is the former Louise Benek, daughter of the late August “Gus” Benek and the late Angela (Pazgan) Benek of Lansford. She is a retired secretary/bookkeeper.

Mr. Stanko is the son of the late John E. Stanko Sr. and the late Nora (Matras) Stanko of Lansford. He is retired from Silberline Manufacturing Co. Inc.

They are the parents of a son, John and his wife Kate Ciesienski of Maryland. They have a grandson Cole Austin and granddaughter Avery Grace.

To celebrate the occasion the couple went on a Caribbean cruise and will attend a family dinner hosted by their son.
