Registrations for Just 3’s and Pre-K are now being taken for the 2023-2024 school year at Effort UMC.

Home repairs

Monroe County Habitat for Humanity has opened its applications for home repairs for those who qualify.

Pizza sale

St. John’s Lutheran Church, Effort, is having a Take & Bake pizza sale. Orders must be placed by Aug. 6

Call the church office at 570-629-4309 for cost and to place an order, making sure to leave one’s name, order and phone number.

Pickup is from 4 to 5 p.m., Aug. 11, at the church on Merwinsburg Rd.

Snow removal

Effort UMC is currently seeking bids for the 2023-2024 season of snow removal.

Anyone interested or know of someone who may be, is asked to contact Jan in the church office at 570-629-1890 for the specifications and additional information.

All proposals will be submitted to the Trustees by the Sept. 11 meeting.

Free lunches

The PVEN free summer lunches, available for children ages 18 and under, at the Chestnuthill Park, Pavilion 1, Monday through Friday, will continue through Aug. 18.

Said lunches are available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. They must be eaten on site.

Appointment needed

The Ross Township Historical Society museum will not be open in August except by appointment. The museum will host an Open House on Ross Township Community Day, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sept. 16, and every second Saturday of each month thereafter at the same time.

There is no charge for admission and all are welcome to view photographs, artifacts and items specific to historical Ross Township. The museum located at 258 Anchorage Road, Saylorsburg.

Volunteers needed

Meals on Wheels of Monroe County has posted a need for volunteers to deliver meals to homebound Seniors and adults with disabilities.

One can deliver once a month, once a week, or whatever works for the volunteer. Delivery routes can take as little as an hour.

Also needed are cancer patient volunteer drivers. Call 1-800-227-2345 for more information.

And the Eastern Monroe Library is looking for GED Tutor volunteers.

Habitat benefit

The 26th annual MC Habitat for Humanity 26th annual Golf Tournament will beheld at Great Bear Golf Club on Sept. 27. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

Registration is due by Sept. 20.
