Monroe woman gets go-cart back

State police at Stroudsburg said a 52-year-old woman from Stroudsburg had a go-cart that was stolen from her in 2021 returned to her in June.

Police said the woman walked into their barracks at 12:13 p.m. June 30 and reported the go-cart was stolen from her on May 12, 2021 by a former friend of hers. The women in 2021 had an agreement in which the suspect would get the go-cart in return for repairing the woman’s sauna. Police said the suspect got the go-cart but never made the repairs.

The woman said she learned from Facebook Marketplace that the go-cart was being offered for sale. She said she contacted the purchaser, who claimed he acquired the go-cart from the suspect in exchange for repairs he performed for her, and did not know the suspect acquired the go-cart through illicit means.

Police said the purchaser returned the go-cart to the rightful owner, but the woman refused to cooperate with police by declining all prosecution.
