St. Peter’s West Penn

St. Peter’s West Penn will hold worship service at 10 a.m. on Sunday at West Penn Park.

Other events are:

Sunday: Vacation Bible School closing luncheon

July 26: 6 p.m. Board meeting

July 30: 9 a.m. Worship service, 10:15 a.m. Adult Sunday school, 3 p.m. Ordination service for Glenn Rarick

Calvary Lewistown

Pastor Kimberly Leskowich will be presenting Children’s Moments at the 10:30 a.m. worship service at the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle. Special music will be provided by Allie Wommer and Sunday school at 9:15 a.m. Terry Gerber will share at the 6:30 p.m. service with music by Beverly Heisler. No Wednesday evening service.

July 27 at 6:30 p.m. a southern gospel style concert will be presented by the trio, Witness. Everyone is invited.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Zion Men will meet at 8 a.m. this Saturday, July 22, in Memorial Hall.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on July 13, with 27 members in attendance. President Mary Bittle opened the meeting with the reading “My Backyard Sanctuary.” Members celebrating July birthdays include Delores Walck.

The group meets at 1 p.m. every Thursday at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Summer Celebration

Tamaqua Area Faith Fellowship Network and the Tamaqua Ministerial Association are hosting a community “Summer Celebration” beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 6 at Trinity United Church of Christ on Lafayette Street in Tamaqua.

Once again, the evening of music, message and fellowship features the Blue Mountain Community Church Praise Band led by Pastor Jennifer Eckhart.

Members of the Tamaqua Ministerial Association will deliver short messages between praise sets. Messages will be delivered by the Revs. Rick Clemson, Primitive Methodist Church; Cindy White, Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church; and Debra Forney, First United Methodist Church. Other Tamaqua pastors also will participate in the service. In the past, the evening closes with a fellowship time.

A free-will offering will be taken. All are welcome.
