Backpack blessings

Monroe Chapter Eastern Star will continue its Blessings in a Backpack program as its community project.

The group helped 67 children each week with two days of weekend food for approximately 36 weeks.

Monetary donations made be made payable to Monroe Chapter No. 99 OES and mailed to OES at 589 Circle Dr., East Stroudsburg, PA 18301

Fun event ahead

Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran Church is heading out to Rita’s Italia Ice next Wednesday, for 6:30 p.m. Folks are to meet there and all are welcome.

Concert in the Park

The Steel Creek Trio is slated to play at the Ross Township Concert in the Park series on July 30 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The park is next to the municipal building on Anchorage Road.

Summer film fun

Middlecreek Christian Church, Kresgeville, is hosting a free monthly movie night at 5 p.m., Aug. 13. Shown will be Last Ounce of Courage.

Pizza, refreshments, sides, salad, and desserts will also be provided.

QoP Youth Ministry

Our Lady Queen of Peace Church is seeking a Director of Youth Ministry. That individual will be a member of the parish staff and work with the pastor, assistant pastor, and staff to integrate teens and young adults into the life and mission of the parish.

The Director of Youth Ministry will coordinate both the junior and senior youth programs and foster connectedness with young adults. While the Director of Youth Ministry is a part-time position, this can become a full-time position for the right candidate.

West End Fair

August is coming and with it comes the West End Fair with its many exhibits, displays and activities.

One of the first is the Fair Vespers at the Main Stage in the Gilbert fairgrounds. That service begins at 4 p.m.

Holy Land trip

Flea market held

St. Peter’s UMC has announced its fall flea market. It is slated to take place on Sept. 16, at the church site’s grounds on Rt. 115 in Saylorsburg.

Habitat golf

Habitat for Humanity in Monroe County has announced its 26th annual golf Tournament to benefit Monroe County’s unit of Habitat for Humanity. It will be held at Great Bear Golf Club on Sept. 27.

Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. and dinner and prizes at 6 p.m. Registration is due by Sept. 20.

2024 photo contest

Monroe County Conservation District’s Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center has announced its 2024 Photo Contest.

One can send in photos that showcase Monroe County’s finest Natural Resources. Winners will receive maple syrup from the Meesing Sugarbush and a 2024 MCCD calendar.

Submissions are due Sept. 23.

One grand prize winner will also be featured on the cover of the 2024 calendar.
