Danger! Drivers Beware

I would like to make people aware of two very dangerous driving conditions in Mahoning Township. The first is a dangerous T intersection at Dinkey Road and Mahoning Mountain Road (at first stop sign going up the mountain at the Graverville intersection). If you are coming from Ashfield on Dinkey Road, get to the T intersection which meets Mahoning Mountain Road, be very cautious. Most cars are not stopping at the stop sign on the mountain road, proceeding right through, which is putting you in great danger if you are turning left toward Troxell Road. I have witnessed at least 80% of drivers do not stop at stop sign. In the past three months I have almost been T-boned five times with my car, at times with my young grandchildren in the car. My husband has had the very same experience two times! Very scary! Years ago, police used to park at the house on the corner (Zona’s) and monitor cars and write tickets to those speeding through the intersection, but with lack of police availability to do this at present, drivers are not stopping. I am pleading with drivers to please stop at the stop sign! Township officials, please put up a camera, fine those drivers!

Another danger to drivers are all the decaying and dead trees on Mahoning Mountain Road that are ready to fall upon a passing car. At last count, there were at least 1 to 20 tall dead trees ready to fall onto the roadway, beginning at the top of the mountain down to the light at Graverville.

I am writing this to prevent life threatening injuries or death, warning anyone traveling this route to be aware!
