Police: Monroe man pointed gun at Amazon driver

A 70-year-old Henryville man has been charged by state police at Stroudsburg with reckless endangerment after he pointed a gun at a woman at 7:14 p.m. July 1 at a site along Hunters Farm Road in Paradise Township.

Police said when they arrived at the scene they made contact with both the man and a 30-year-old woman from Allentown, who had left the scene.

Police said the woman told them the Henryville man granted her access to his property by opening the security gate in order for her to deliver an Amazon package to the residence.

The woman told police she identified herself as an Amazon driver; she was operating a personally-owned 2019 Dodge Caravan. She said she parked the vehicle in front of the residence to deliver the package and the man pulled a short-barrel shotgun, pointing it at her. She told police she remained in the vehicle, raised her hands and told the man again she was an Amazon driver, also telling the man her two children were seated in the rear of the vehicle.

The woman said after the man retrieved the package he pointed the gun at her again and told her to leave, which she did.

Police did not name the man in a news release sent this weekend.
