Schuylkill County’s annual Fall Cleanup will be from Sept. 5 to Sept. 16.

County commissioners on Wednesday approved 16 sites for collections, including the Tamaqua Transfer Station.

The remaining sites are Pottsville, Minersville, the CES Landfill, Girardville, North Manheim Township, Schuylkill, Haven, Wayne, Township, Porter Township, Pine Grove, Ringtown, New Ringgold, Mahanoy City, Branch Township, East Union Township, and Tremont.

The exact locations will be listed in advertisements for the event and on the county website, schuylkillcountypa.gov.

This year’s cleanup list will include tires, appliances and bulky items, and is open to all county residents.

There will not be any electronics accepted this year.

The state Department of Environmental Protection reimburses the county up to 50 percent of the cost for the event.

Bids for the waste tire collection and recycling and for the collection of bulky items will be accepted in the Controller‘s Office until 3 p.m. July 31.

The bids will be opened in the commissioners’ board room at 9 a.m. Aug. 2, with a tentative award date of Aug. 9.
