Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on June 22 with 23 members in attendance. President Mary Bittle opened the meeting with the reading “God Loves You.” A moment of silence was observed for Grace Sakusky.

The group meets at 1 p.m. every Thursday at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. Communion will be included during this service. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Andreas VFW

Andreas VFW Post 5069 will meet at 7 p.m. on July 12 at West Penn Park.

A luncheon is scheduled for 11 a.m. on July 15 at Leiby’s Restaurant for paid members and one guest.

Pottsville Christian Women’s Club is sponsoring a “Day at the Beach” luncheon at 11:30 p.m., July 18 at Grace Evangelical Free Church, Cressona. Speaker is Julie Henning with special music by Maddie Zimmerman.

Calvary Lewistown

Pastor Kimberly A. Leskowich will share the message at the 10:25 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Calvary Evangelical Church, Lewistown Valley. Service is held at the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. There is no evening service, but there is a 7 p.m. Wednesday prayer and share.

Diaper Depot

Diaper Depot, the free diaper ministry at Zion Lutheran Church in Tamaqua, is accepting new clients for its July 22 distribution.

You must be a resident of the Tamaqua Area School District and make a request at www.ziontamaqua.com by July 5. Sorry, no requests can be accepted after that date. You will be given an appointment time for the July 22 distribution.

The first time you pick up diapers, you must present a birth certificate for the child or children and some type of proof of residence. Diapers are available for children up to age 4, sizes NB to 6, and pull-ups 2T-3T and 3T-4T.

Zion is located at the corner of Greenwood and Mauch Chunk streets in Tamaqua.
