State police at Frackville - crashes

State Police at Frackville reported on area crashes:

• Cheyenne J. Harris, 28, of Pottsville, had minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 5:45 p.m. June 12 on Interstate 81 in Ryan Township. She was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital for a medical evaluation after the crash.

Police said she was driving a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander southbound when she lost control of the vehicle, which struck an embankment on the left side of the roadway.

The car had disabling damages and was towed from the scene.

Police said Harris was cited for the crash.

• A driver of a vehicle that struck a utility pole and ripped down overhead wires fled the scene of the incident that happened at 1:37 p.m. May 23 on the Tamanend Road in Delano Township.

Police said the driver attempted to negotiate a left-hand turn onto Hazel Street when it struck the pole.

Due to the proximity of the township line to Rush Township, police from that municipality arrived at the scene for an extended period of time before state police arrived. Troopers said they were advised by Rush Township police that the vehicle was a commercial motor vehicle with a blue tractor and a silver trailer with an unidentifiable driver.

Police said member of the Hometown Fire Company assisted by shutting down the roadway until a PPL crew took control of the scene.

• A 2018 Chevrolet Cruze was towed from the scene after it struck a deer that had entered its path as it was traveling on Interstate 81 in Ryan Township.

Police said it happened at 8:14 p.m. June 2 when Brandon T. Fisher, 24, of Minersville, was southbound. Both he and a passenger, Emily M. Sillers, 20, of Mahanoy City, were uninjured, police said.

• A 2012 Winnebago Tour was towed from Interstate 81 in Delano Township after an incident there at 3:56 p.m. June 11.

Police said John V. Sigismondi, 58, of Brooksville, Florida, was operating the vehicle southbound when the front driver’s side tire “popped.” Police said he was unable to safely stop the vehicle, which entered the left lane of travel and struck a rock embankment on the median.

There were no injuries, police said.
