A Lehighton woman faces DUI charges following a crash Wednesday night.

At 8:35 p.m., Lehighton Police Department was dispatched to 59 E. Blakeslee Blvd. for a crash.

Police determined a 29-year-old woman was driving a tan Kia Soul east on Blakeslee Boulevard when she lost control and crashed over a newly constructed utility access hole.

Police observed signs of impairment and the woman was subsequently arrested for DUI.

Her name was not released.

Charges are pending on the return of the blood results.
