Starting May 1 through May 31, the Monroe County Meals on Wheels along with the FRM Group/Insurance and financial services in Stroudsburg, reached out to the community to ask for donations to help supplement the Meals in Wheels Pet Program.
“Here at Meals on Wheels of Monroe County, we know how much pets can ease the burden and make each day brighter, through community support, including cash and product donation that enables us to provide one to two weeks of pet food to current Meals on Wheels clients every month,” said Stacy Koeck, special events and pet program coordinator.
“Occasionally, depending upon our inventory, we can deliver even more,” Koeck said.
“Their greatest need is wet and dry cat food and dry dog food,” she added.
All the donations were dropped at the FRM Group/insurance and financial services and Tuesday and it took two cars to deliver to Meals on Wheels. Someone even donated a large climbing and scratching post for cats and Koeck said they plan to raffle that off.
