Local Roundup: Results from June 6

Northern Valley came from behind twice to earn a Lehigh Valley Legion victory over Allentown on Tuesday.

Franklin Township also registered a Connie Mack win, while Berlinsville topped Northampton in Blue Mountain League action.

LEHIGH VALLEY LEGION

Allentown-Northern Valley

Northern Valley came back from two deficits to gain a 13-5 Lehigh Valley Legion victory over Allentown.

The Chargers trailed 2-0 and 4-3, but combined for nine runs in the third and fourth innings to pull out the win.

Four different players - Nicholas Bogert, Benjamin Vaka, Nicholas Scott and Sam Mauro - all finished with a hit and two RBIs. Andrew Diehl also added a hit and knocked in a run.

Shaun O’Donnell earned the victory, allowing four hits and two earned runs in four innings of work. O’Donnell walked three and struck out seven.

For Allentown, Ronald Serrano finished with two hits and two runs.

The win upped the Chargers to 3-1.

Carbon-Lower Macungie

A big game from Tyler Geist helped Lower Macungie post a 7-0 Lehigh Valley Legion victory over the Carbon Momarchs.

Geist earned the win, pitching six shutout innings. He allowed four hits and no walks while striking out five. At the plate, Geist collected two hits, one a triple, and knocked in three runs.

The winners, who improved to 2-2, also received two hits and a run from Ryan Latchford.

For the Monarchs (2-2), Aiden Rarick, Rich Strack, Jack Edwards, Andrew Bosi and Evan Murphy all had one hit.

Palmerton-Franklin Township

Franklin Township broke a tie game with three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and eventually defeated Palmerton, 6-3, in Connie Mack action.

Jed Cordes, the game’s winning pitcher, also delivered two hits and two RBIs at the plate. Cordes pitched six innings, allowing just four hits and one earned run. He walked two and struck out five.

Braylon Hunsicker reached base three times - one hit, two walks - and scored a pair of runs.

For the Bombers, Dirk Strohl collected two hits and scored a run. Gaige Vezo chipped in with a double and an RBI.

BLUE MTN. LEAGUE

Berlinsville-Northampton

Brandon Ratti was solid on the mound and contributed at the plate as the Berlinsville Braves posted a 5-3 Blue Mountain League victory over the Northampton Giants.

Ratti started and tossed four innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out six. The Pleasant Valley graduate also collected a hit, stole a base, scored a run and knocked in one.

The Braves (4-5), who have won three of their last four games, received a hit, a run and an RBI from Jim Thorpe grad Noah Snisky. Palmerton product Cole Serfass contributed a walk and a run.

Rommel Perez finished with three hits and an RBI, while Kyle Sincavage added two hits and a run.

The Giants were led by Steve Sulcoski, who had three extra-base hits - a two-run homer and two doubles.
