Fire companies from throughout Schuylkill and neighboring counties responded to a multi-alarm fire Saturday night in Ashland. The fire was reported around 8 p.m. in the 900 block of Centre Street as a working high occupancy structure fire. The first fire official to arrive on scene reported a fully involved structure fire. The blaze went to multiple alarms. Fire companies from as far as Shamokin and Danville responded. Within minutes the blaze spread to adjoining structures.
