Blood drive

St. Matthew’s UCC is hosting a blood drive with Miller-Keystone Blood Center from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday. To register, visit Miller-Keystone Blood Center (giveapint.org) or call 800-223-6667.

Fireman’s festival

The four West End fire companies (Polk, Kunkletown, Blue Ridge and West End) are together hosting a West End Fireman’s Festival at the West End Fairgrounds in Gilbert on Thursday through Saturday.

Thursday and Friday gates open at 5:30 p.m.

Thursday’s entertainment is Timewhys from 6 to 9 p.m.; Friday is Cramer Brothers from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, the gates open at 3 p.m.

with the entertainment being Chris Eckert from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and the Brian Dean Moore Band from 6 to 9 p.m.

There is a charge for parking and attendees are advised to bring lawn chairs.

This benefit for the four WE Fire Companies ends with fireworks on Saturday at 9:30 p.m.

Food and drink will be available each night. Sponsors are needed and craft vendors are wanted.

Legion Election

Members of Post 927 are reminded of the election taking place at 7 p.m. Thursday meeting at Post 927 in Gilbert.

The Legion Auxilary will be voting on June 14.

Monroe O.E.S.

Tomorrow at 7 p.m., there will be a stated meeting of Monroe Chapter No. 99 of the Order of the Eastern Star at the Rimrock Masonic Center in Stroudsburg.

Various report’s will be heard and the treasurer will be installed.

The Chapter will celebrate its 113th birthday.

Church meeting

Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church, Kresgeville, will hold its annual meeting, for official partners only, after the 11 a.m. service on Sunday.

Volunteers needed

Monroe County Meals on Wheels needs volunteers to help deliver meals to homebound Seniors and adults with disabilities in Monroe County.

Routes can take as little as one hour.

Pizza deadline

St. John’s Lutheran Church, Effort, is accepting orders for ready-to-bake pizza until Sunday.

Call 570-629-4309 and leave your name, phone number and number of pizzas wanted.

Pick-up is at the church on June 9, between 4 and 5 p.m.

Sunday event

The Ross Township Historical Society Museum will be open for visitors from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Featured will be LeRoy Hawk, a long-time Ross Township resident who will have very old photos of people and places throughout the township.

This is not a presentation, but an opportunity to speak with someone with a remarkable memory and interesting reminisces of “how things used to be.”

The museum is located in the Ross Township Municipal Hall annex, 258 Anchorage Road, Saylorsburg

All are welcome; there is no charge for admission.
