Skyler Searfoss capped her freshman season at Holy Family University with a list of honors.

Included among them for the Jim Thorpe graduate are two Rookie of the Year titles.

Searfoss, a four-time All-State player at Thorpe, was named both the 2022-2023 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Rookie of the Year, as well as the D2EastHoops.org Rookie of the Year. d2easthoops.org is an organization that covers the 35 teams that make up the Division II East Region.

She also received All-CACC Second Team honors, and was named to the 2023 CCAC All-Tournament team this season.

Searfoss was a four-time CACC Rookie of the Week (Nov. 28, Dec. 20, Jan. 16 and Feb. 20) and also earned Defensive Player of the Week honors on Jan. 9.

She finished her first season fifth in the region with 117 free throws made, and eighth with an .830 free throw percentage. She also ranked 17th with 90 assists.

According to the Holy Family University Athletics website, the three-time Times News Girls’ Basketball Player of the Year led the Tigers in all three of those categories.

Searfoss averaged 13.1 points per game, which led Holy family, and was second on the team with both a .513 field goal percentage and 43 steals.

Those numbers also ranked in the top 12 in the CACC.

Searfoss was a key member of the Holy Family squad, which finished the season with a 20-10 overall record, and a 14-4 record in conference play. The Tigers also advanced to the CACC tournament semifinals.
