The Carbon County Tourist Promotion Agency last night paid high tribute to William Righter Reabold, Jim Thorpe, Carbon County forest inspector, as its Citizen of the Year during a testimonial banquet held at Trainer’s Inn, Franklin Township.

Reabold received the first such award made by the TPA to a Carbon County resident for outstanding contributions to the conservation and beautification of the area.

Charles Rhoads of the Split Rock Lodge, Lake Harmony, a member of the TPA, presented the honoree a wall plaque while William Van Dyke, TPA president, described Reabold as a man who has been on call day and night, serving in many roles of public service.
