New York man faces child pornography charges

A New York man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for online enticement and the production, and attempted production of visual depictions of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania said Alkayan Khan, 37, of Ozone Park, was indicted.

According to U.S. Attorney Gerard M. Karam, the indictment alleges that between Sept. 27, 2021, and Nov. 25, 2022, Khan knowingly enticed a person under the age of 18 years to engage in sexual activity for interstate use, a criminal offense under Production of Visual Depictions of Minors Engaging in Sexually Explicit Conduct.

The indictment alleges that on four occasions from Sept. 28, 2021 to Jan. 20, 2022, Khan knowingly enticed a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct in order to produce visual depictions of it for dispersal.

The indictment also alleges that on four occasions between Jan. 6 and July 2, 2022, Khan attempted to entice the same minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the same purpose.

The charges stem from an investigation by the Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations, the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department, and the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney James M. Buchanan.
