Dr. Robert Zegler, superintendent of Jim Thorpe Area Junior-Senior High School, tendered his resignation last evening at a special meeting.

He has accepted a position in the Whitney Point Central School District in New York state.

His letter of resignation was read with regret by Charles Rhoades, president of the district’s board.

Dr. Zegler thanked the directors, solicitor, community, parents, teachers and students for the opportunity to serve them during his brief tenure in Jim Thorpe.

Directors George Marzen, Wayne Althouse and Charles McHugh were named to a committee to oversee the selection of a new superintendent.
