Walnutport Borough has given donations to several nonprofit organizations.

A total of $39,000 in yearly budgeted donations were approved by borough council last week.

Diamond Fire Company received the largest amount at $28,000, followed by Northern Valley Ambulance Association ($5,000), Slatington Public Library ($3,000), fire police ($2,000), and Walnutport Recreation Board ($1,000).

Councilwoman Jennifer Wentz said that all the donations are within the borough’s budget.
