Republicans David Parker and Christine Wilkins will be on the ballot in November’s General Election for Monroe County commissioner after securing spots in Tuesday’s Primary Election.

With all 52 precincts reporting, Parker was the top vote getter on the GOP ballot with 5,234 votes. Wilkins got 4,061 and Whitehead 2,921.

Parker and Wilkins will face incumbents Sharon Laverdure and John Christy in the fall election, with the top three vote getters in November winning seats on the three-person board.

Parker, who lives in East Stroudsburg, worked in the family business, Cramer’s Home Centers, for 27 years. He was a state representative for Monroe County in 2015-16.

Whitehead, who lives in Tunkhannock Township, is a former legislative assistant for U.S. Rep. Lou Barletta and state Rep. Doyle Heffley. Whitehead is the former chairman of the Monroe County Republican Committee.

Wilkins, who lives in Stroud Township, has been a Stroud Township supervisor since 2015.
