A Monroe County woman has been charged after causing a fight in which she assaulted employees at a Dollar Tree in Mount Pocono, police said.

At 2:11 p.m. Monday, Pocono Mountain Regional Police officers were dispatched to the store in the 3200 block of Route 940 for a fight.

Officers were that a woman was physically assaulting employees and sprayed them with pepper spray.

Before police arrived, Tiffany Gonzalez, 19, of Pocono Summit, fled the scene.

Employees told police that they caught Gonzalez attempting to shoplift and when she was confronted, she began assaulting them and sprayed them with pepper spray.

Gonzalez was found at her home.

The pepper spray was recovered by police.

Gonzalez has been charged with simple assault and harassment.
