Calvary Evangelical

Guest speaker at the 10:25 a.m. worship service this Sunday is Mrs. Erica Murphy with a message of hope for all mothers. There will also be special music and gifts presented to all mothers. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. There is no Sunday evening service. Prayer and share at 7 p.m. on May 17.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on May 4 with 22 members in attendance. The meeting was opened with the reading “Springtime.”

Gladys Arner was added to the sick list. May birthdays being celebrated include: Diane Gould, Nancy Godanis, Rose Muluski.

The group meets at 1 p.m. every Thursday at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Rush-Ryan Seniors

The Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior Citizens met on April 25 with 37 members in attendance. May birthdays being celebrated include: Lorraine Hupko, Nancy Godanis, Diane Gould and Joyce McLaughlin.

Refreshments were served by Kim Usalis and hobo beans were made and served by Beverly Barron. Members are asked to bring a gift for the Chinese auction in July at the annual picnic.

The group meets at 1 p.m., the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Christ church, Barnesville. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Diaper Depot

Diaper Depot, the free diaper ministry at Zion Lutheran Church in Tamaqua, is accepting new clients for its May 20 distribution.

You must be a resident of the Tamaqua Area School District and make a request at www.ziontamaqua.com by May 12. Sorry, no requests can be accepted after that date. You will be given an appointment time for the May 20 distribution.

The first time you pick up diapers, you must present a birth certificate for the child or children and some type of proof of residence. Diapers are available for children up to age 4, sizes NB to 6, and pullups 2T-3T and 3T-4T.

Diaper Depot is a community pantry of the Greater Philadelphia Diaper Bank.

Zion is located at the corner of Greenwood and Mauch Chunk streets in Tamaqua.
