Hillside Cemetery

Since the late 1800s, Effort United Methodist Church and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effort have been partners in overseeing and financially supporting the Hillside Memorial Cemetery.

In 1979 the cemetery was incorporated and a covenant was agreed upon that the governing board of the cemetery would consist of members from both churches and that EUMC and St. John’s would continue to maintain and provide the financial needs of the cemetery. Generous donations from the two churches and the community at large will help provide much-needed funds for the upkeep of the nonprofit Hillside Memorial Cemetery.

For church neighbors, call either church office to see how to give a donation to help maintain Hillside Cemetery.
