State police at Hazleton said five people - including four from Weatherly - were involved in a two-vehicle crash at 6:37 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Stockton Mountain and Club Forty roads in Hazle Township.

Police said Nikos C. Rapach, 19, of Zion Grove, had serious injuries and was taken by the American Patient Transport Systems to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.

Three other people, Dustin S. Halechko, 32, Maria L. Lombardi, 30, and a 6-year-old boy, all from Weatherly, were also taken to LVH by the ambulance service.

Police said they had “possible injuries.”

A baby girl also had “possible injuries,” police said, but she was not transported to the hospital.

Police said the crash happened when Rapach, driving a 2007 Chevrolet Colorado westbound on Club Forty Road, went through a stop sign and was struck by a 2019 Dodge Ram that was going south on Stockton Mountain Road and driven by Halechko. Police said the Colorado struck a utility pole.

Police said the 6-year-old boy was in a booster seat and the girl was in a child safety seat in the truck.

Police said both vehicles were towed from the scene.

They said Rapach was cited for a stop/yield sign violation.
