Yenca finishes with two hits in the contest, while Pavlosky also collects a pair of hits and scores two runs. Olympian starting pitcher Tony Taptich tosses eight innings, allowing just five hits and two runs while striking out five. Reliever Kurt Reichert hurls two scoreless frames to gain the win. Thorpe, coached by George Gillespie, also receives two hits from both Scott McGonigal and Mike Thomas.
