Historical society

The Palmerton Historical Society’s monthly program will take place on Monday.

This month’s presentation welcomes Peter Kern, local historian and author of the society’s Scribe. His title is “Before NJZ? The area’s early history,” which will take participants back in time to experience life before NJZ.

The program, set to begin at 6:30 p.m., will be held at the Knight’s Gallery of the Palmerton Library. It is handicap accessible. The event is free and open to the public.

Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran

Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Palmerton is holding a May Persian doughnut sale.

Doughnuts cost $2 each and orders are due by May 7.

Doughnuts can be picked up at the Church on May 18 from 9 a.m.-noon.

The church will also hold Worship Services at 9 a.m. each Sunday with Pastor Kenneth Melber. Jr. Sunday school for all ages is also held at 9 a.m.

You can worship in person, listen in your car in the parking lot just tune-in to 94.9 FM or watch live on Facebook Live.

St. John’s UCC

St. John’s UCC of Palmerton continues to celebrate their 225th Anniversary as they host a Block Party & Car Show on May 20.

Registration for cars start at 9 a.m. day of event and is free. Donations welcome.

Car show and block party are from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Kitchen will be open serving up great food. There will be a DJ, Vendors, Ice Cream truck, Basket Raffle, 50/50 drawing, and a Bounce House for the kids.
