The East Penn Board of Supervisors conducted the following business Monday night:
• Approved a 3,371 acreage addition to the Ag Security Area.
• Discontinued a burn ban that went into effect April 12. Discussion followed regarding what a burn ban covers in reference to both state and private campgrounds, the Appalachian Trail and residential properties.
The board and fire chief will discuss this further and look at ordinances.
• One of the township trucks is down and the part is on back-order. A motion passed to purchase a new Kenworth truck at a cost of $230,927.
• A solar energy ordinance was tabled so that the solicitor could review revisions.
• Reminded people about the Ashfield annual fishing contest, to be held May 13 at 9 a.m. for ages 1-15.
• The road report noted that road sweeping was finished and milling and patchwork will begin on Hollow Road.
• Accepted a bid from Asphalt Motion Solution LLC for seal coating.
• Flooring will be installed in the community center the week of May 22-26.
• Following the resignation of two members from the Recreation Committee, John H Greenwalt was appointed to the committee for a 5-year term.

• The next meeting of the board of supervisors will be held at 6:30 p.m. June 5.
