Senior Games: Participants post 1st day cornhole, ladder ball wins

It was a day of celebration and competition during the kickoff events of the 2023 Carbon County Senior Games.

But who will capture the Commissioners’ Cup? Will it be North Carbon County, which is made up of Panther Valley, Jim Thorpe and Weatherly, or will the title stay in the South, which consists of Lehighton and Palmerton seniors? Only time will tell.

With only one day of competition complete, it’s anybody’s guess who will be this year’s top dog.

The first-day events included cornhole toss and ladder ball.

A point system is attached to each medal. Gold represents five points; silver, three points; and bronze, one point.

Today’s events include basketball shoot and darts.
