Palmerton Borough Council took the following action on Thursday:

• Approved the Palmerton Municipal Authority to purchase a 2022 GMC Canyon truck at a cost of $37,970. It will replace the 2008 Chevy Colorado.

• Agreed to have the borough’s code enforcement officer attend Blight Committee meetings.

• Accepted the resignation of the borough’s sewage enforcement officer, Berks Environmental Tech, effective May 31.

• Announced that the Alley J and Alley H low volume pave grants were awarded, and that 50% of the funds have been received for the purchase of the material upfront.

• Approved the Ramsey subdivision, located in the 500 block of Lehigh Avenue, between 526 Lehigh and 516 Lehigh Avenue.

• Appointed Austin Wilburn to the Palmerton Municipal Fire Department.

• Approved the request from the borough of Lehighton for the Palmerton fire police to provide coverage for Lehighton Area High School’s graduation parade on June 7, as well as Lehighton Area High School’s graduation on June 9.

• Granted consent for the fire company to attend the Carbon County Awareness event from 5-8 p.m. June 22 at the Mahoning Valley Drive-In.
