The Lehigh Valley Carpenter Cup team announced information relating to this season’s tryouts.

The first tryout will be held on Sunday, May 14 from 8:15 a.m. until 12 noon at Limeport Stadium. All candidates attending will need cash or a check for $150 in a self-addressed, stamped unsealed envelope. Checks should be made payable to “All Sorts of Sports, Inc.” In addition, players must have a signed waiver and a completed profile form.

The team will hold its second tryout on Sunday, May 21 and its third tryout on Sunday, May 28. Both of those will be from 8:30 a.m. until 12 noon at Limeport Stadium. The team will be selected following the third tryout.

The team will then practice on Sunday, June 4 and Sunday, June 11 at 8:30 a.m.

Lehigh Valley’s first game will Tuesday, June 13 against Tri Cape.

The Carpenter Cup is a 16-team, single-elimination tournament that features high school all-star teams from eastern Pennsylvania, south and central New Jersey and Delaware that is sponsored by the Philadelphia Phillies. The event began in 1986.

Former Palmerton baseball coach Ted Plessl is the team’s manager.
