A quick response by the Palmerton fire department kept damage to a minimal at a structure fire Friday afternoon.

The fire department was dispatched to an investigation around 3:30 p.m. at Tony’s Pizza, 285 Delaware Avenue. Within minutes it was upgraded to a working commercial structure fire with additional companies being called. Firefighters did find a fire in the kitchen area of the structure bringing it under control within minutes.
