Police respond to Lansford break-in

Lansford Borough police responded to a report of a break-in at the former Silberline building on Dock Street Thursday morning.

The owner notified police after would-be thieves were seen on video surveillance around 9 a.m., said Sgt. Shawn Nunemacher, who responded within a minutes. The burglars fled into the woods, he said.

Officers spent more than an hour clearing the building, and checking the roof, to where the owner suspected the would-be thieves fled, Nunemacher said. Area fire companies assisted with the search, he said.

Police were able to obtain several photos, which they will be releasing on social media in the coming days to see if the public can help identify those responsible, he said.
