Police: NJ man falsified gun application

A 44-year-old man from Brownsmills, New Jersey, is facing Firearms Act charges after completing forms relating to a gun purchase that contained inconsistent information.

It happened on Oct. 2, 2021, but state police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the incident this week.

Police said the man appeared at Saber South, a licensed firearms dealer located at 2164 Route 209, Chestnuthill Township, and attempted to purchase a gun, completing the required forms for the background check through the Pennsylvania Instant Check System.

Police said the background check yielded information which was inconsistent with the information he provided on the required forms.
