Victim of fatal crash was Marian High graduate

The 22-year-old Barnesville man who died in a one-vehicle crash at 2:14 a.m. Saturday on Route 54 in Ryan Township was a 2019 graduate of Marian Catholic High School in Hometown.

Blayke Didgen McGuire, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to state police at Frackville.

He was a son of Brett and Jessica McGuire of Barnesville. In addition to his parents, he had three brothers, Nova and Racer, who are members of the Marian football team, and Brett, an eighth grader at St. Jerome’s Regional School in Hometown, also survive.

The crash happened about 600 feet east of Tunnel Road when the 2014 Ford F-150 was westbound on Route 54 and McGuire lost control of the vehicle. The truck went off the road and struck multiple trees and a utility pole, coming to rest blocking the westbound lane and facing east.
