Open house Saturday at safety center

Monroe County Office of Emergency Management and Monroe County 911 will host a Public Safety Center Open House from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The community can visit the Monroe County Public Safety Center, tour the 911 Center and interact with over 50 municipal, county, state and federal partners that serve Monroe County and the Northeastern Pennsylvania region.

There will be displays on topics such as emergency preparedness, first aid, and throughout the day, there will be activities for all ages including:

• Demonstrations by local first responders;

• A Touch-A-Truck event with more than 20 different fire, EMS and police apparatus on display;

• An interactive Kid Zone where youngsters can experience being a responder;

• A mock Red Cross shelter;

• Hands-Only CPR and Stop the Bleed instruction.

Parking is at the following locations and shuttles will run from the parking lots to the safety center:

• Monroe County Athletic Fields, 4232 Manor Drive, Stroudsburg

• Monroe County Burnley Athletic Fields, 4219 Manor Drive, Stroudsburg

• Pleasant Valley Manor, 4227 Manor Drive, Stroudsburg

Disabled parking will be at the Monroe Count Public Safety Center and a Disabled Parking Placard must be displayed.
