Hotel Bethlehem announces film premiere

Hotel Bethlehem is giving film fans a chance to immerse themselves in a movie location and dine with directors.

Director Daniel Roebuck, a Bethlehem native, and his daughter, co-director and co-writer Grace Roebuck, shot part of their new film, “Lucky Louie,” at the historic hotel.

“The hotel is like a character in the movie,” said Kelly Ronalds, Director of Room Sales and Guest Experience for the property. “This is the first time in the hotel’s 100 years that a movie has been filmed here. We had so much fun watching Danny, Grace and their team work in the lobby and in 1741 on The Terrace.”

‘Lucky Louie’ to premiere

Roebuck who is well known in the Lehigh Valley for his acting career and his directing work.

“My work focuses on advancing family, faith in God, and the values of love, forgiveness, good works and gratitude,” he said.

His latest film, “Lucky Louie,” which will debut this weekend, features a retired cop who teams up with four ex-convicts and a behavioral science student to solve a 50-year-old bank robbery. The faith-based mystery takes viewers on a wild ride as the group works to solve the crime of the century.

“Lucky Louie” will have a weekend premiere at the Banko Alehouse at SteelStacks on April 29.

Dine with the Directors package details

On Saturday, Historic Hotel Bethlehem will host Dine with the Directors as part of a special “Lucky Louie” premiere package.

The getaway includes an overnight stay for two at Historic Hotel Bethlehem. Guests will enjoy dinner in 1741 on the Terrace with Daniel Roebuck and Grace Roebuck.

The father-daughter team wrote, directed, and produced “Lucky Louie.” The package also includes transportation and tickets to the film premier at the Banko Ale House and the post-showing Q&A session.
